Schools out for summer finale concert - total success!

This year's Schools out for summer finale concert was held at the Boat club, Nottingham. Over the years the Boat Club has hosted bands such as Ultravox, T. Rex, the Pretenders, Ian Dury & the Blockheads, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Eric Clapton, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, Gary Moore, Fairport Convention, Genesis, Motorhead, the Sex Pistols and many more!

The weather couldn't have been better - a sunny summer's afternoon and circa 200 people attended to show their support for our Schools out bands!

This year's students were fantastic! Their enthusiasm was second to none and their work ethic was again, fantastic. Well done to you all.

It's that time again - not only is week two over but all that is left is the gig on Sunday!

We had an incredible selection of young people on this year's summer programme! The enthusiasm and talent was very high. Congratulations to all those who attended.

Time is flying here at MLC-Academy! We have four bands working this morning on their sets for Sunday's gig! It's very exciting to see and hear the progress being made.

Here we go again! Today is day one of week two (I know!) This time we have four highly skilled bands already formed and jamming on day one. It's good to see returning faces eager to rock n roll.

Wow - the first week is drawing to a close already! Our guys have formed bands, chosen songs, set lists and rehearsed like crazy! This afternoon all the bands will perform a dress rehearsal. Photos will be posted early next week.

The 2010 MLC Academy summer programme got underway today! Lots of shy and nervous musicians who are now rocking out and choosing their sets.

"Schools out for summer" is a week long performance programme culminating with the attendees performing a concert in front of their families and friends making this summer one to remember!
